Andrea Lane is Advisor to the Associate Dean (Research and Innovation) and Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship as Strathmore University, specializing in entrepreneurship education and social entrepreneurship. Previously, Andrea taught as Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship at the University of Nottingham Ningbo. She has extensive start-up and management experience in Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Prior, she founded FYSE – a regional entrepreneurship and economic development agency based in Hong Kong. She was awarded the 2012 Women Social Leadership Awards and was selected as member of the Global Entrepreneurship Forum in 2011. She is a frequent speaker about women economic empowerment and social entrepreneurship, including speaking at four TEDx events across China, and regularly judges at social enterprise competitions including the Sankalp Awards for Social Entrepreneurs and the DBS-NUS Social Venture Challenge Asia. She is a PhD candidate at Newcastle University.
