Professor Dr. Sulochana Nair is the Vice Chancellor of Binary University, currently heading The Centre for Social Entrepreneurship (CSE), as well as the Dean of the Binary Graduate School. Her specialization is in Development Studies, specifically working in the fields of poverty, labour, gender and rural development. She was the founding director for the Centre for Poverty and Development Studies (CPDS) at University of Malaya. In addition to providing policy inputs to the government, Professor Dr. Nair is also involved in teaching, consultancy, training and capacity building programmes. Prof Sulo is a Member of the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Sejahtera an NGO which is involved in poverty alleviation and building sustainable communities. She also a Trustee of the Gandhi Memorial NGO devoted to assist in the establishment of a society whose members are dedicated to the service of the community in the relief of distress , poverty and illiteracy based on Gandhian principles.
